Maloa is a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma where she is also a registered artist. Maloa currently lives in Seattle, WA where she works with the Quinault Indian Nation Tribal Court and Rise Above, a native youth Non-Profit Organization.
Working with indigenous organizations is important to her, as it aligns with her life’s work of changing and decolonizing the current narrative while honoring our indigenous communities.
She is the grandchild of a boarding school survivor who suffered most of his life in overcoming those early childhood traumas of physical & emotional abuse because he spoke his Choctaw language. She continues to visualize ways to impact social change and illuminate Indigenous voices throughout Indian Country.
